Terms of Service

Effective July 24, 2026

Welcome to Maelon. These Terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Maelon product at app.maelon.co, our desktop app, and any related websites and services we provide (collectively, the "Service"). By using Maelon you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

Who can use Maelon

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU) to use Maelon. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for any activity under your account. Tell us right away at hello@maelon.co if you think someone else has accessed your account.

Your content

You own the tasks, notes, calendar events, files and images you upload, canvas creations, and any other content you create in Maelon (your "Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, store, display, and process your Content, including sending it to the third-party providers we use to run the Service (such as our AI providers when you use an AI feature), solely so we can operate the Service for you and for no other purpose.

You're responsible for what you put in your Content. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to share, anything illegal, or anything that violates someone else's rights.

Acceptable use

Don't do any of the following while using Maelon:

  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or attempt to access the Service in unauthorized ways
  • Use the Service to send spam, abuse, malware, or anything that breaks the law
  • Try to disrupt the Service, evade rate limits, or test our security without permission
  • Resell, sublicense, or re-host the Service without our written consent
  • Use the Service to build a competing product (using your own data is fine; using our infrastructure is not)

Reasonable security research is welcome — please report findings to hello@maelon.co rather than publicly disclosing.

AI features

Maelon uses third-party AI providers to power features like Quinn (our assistant), Capture, the daily briefing, and image and other media generation. The prompts and content you submit to these features are sent to those providers to generate a response. Current providers include Anthropic, OpenAI, and fal.ai; they process your input under their own terms, and per those terms your input is not used to train their models.

AI output is generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unexpected. It is provided for your reference only and is not professional advice of any kind (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise). You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it, and for how you use it.

You are responsible for the prompts you enter and any content you generate. Do not use the AI features to create anything unlawful, infringing, deceptive, or that violates someone else's rights. We do not guarantee that AI-generated output is unique or that you own or may legally use it; rights in AI output depend on the applicable provider's terms and the law. Metered AI features consume Quinn credits as described in Plans and billing.

Third-party integrations

If you connect Maelon to third-party services (e.g. Google Calendar), you authorize us to access your data on those services according to the permissions you grant. Those services have their own terms — using them through Maelon doesn't replace accepting theirs. You can disconnect at any time.

Plans and billing

Maelon is a paid subscription. Pricing is per seat: $25 per seat per month, or $250 per seat per year, which works out to two months free. Your workspace is billed for the seats it uses, and adding or removing a teammate changes your bill accordingly.

New subscriptions start with a 7-day free trial. We ask for a payment method up front. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your card is charged automatically when the trial ends, on day 8, and your paid subscription begins. We send you a reminder a few days before that happens.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period, monthly or yearly, until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings, and your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Prices may change with reasonable notice, and any change takes effect on your next renewal.

Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as our merchant of record. Polar handles billing, applicable sales tax and VAT, and your receipts. Your subscription is with Maelon; Polar is the reseller of record for the transaction.

Quinn AI credits included with your plan renew each billing period and do not roll over. Optional top-up credit packs you buy do not expire. Except where the law requires otherwise, subscription fees and credit packs are non-refundable. That said, if something went wrong, email hello@maelon.co and we will try to make it right. See our Refund Policy for details.

Termination

You can stop using Maelon and delete your account anytime — email hello@maelon.co and we'll process the deletion within 30 days. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if we're required to by law. Where reasonable, we'll give you advance notice and a chance to export your data.

Disclaimers

Maelon is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure against every threat, or that the AI features will produce specific results. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Maelon and its operators won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) USD $50 or (b) the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain warranties or liabilities, including under Canadian consumer protection law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any right or remedy that cannot be limited or excluded under the law that applies to you.

Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless Maelon and its operators from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Changes to the Service or these Terms

We'll keep improving the product, which means features will come and go. When we make material changes to these Terms, we'll update the effective date above and notify signed-in users by email or in-app notice. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms.

Governing law and disputes

Maelon is operated by Tinsly Co., based in British Columbia, Canada. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that the courts located in British Columbia have jurisdiction over any dispute that can't be resolved informally, except where applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

Please reach out to us first at hello@maelon.co. Most problems are easier to fix than to litigate.
